About Me

Hi and welcome!

I'm Whitney, and I've been quilting for about a couple years now. I was hooked after I decided to make a baby quilt for a friend. I had NO idea what I was doing. After finding some cute fabric, I spent days...okay weeks...reading quilting blogs and watching YouTube videos, looking for inspiration, help with the basics, and bravery. I eventually settled on a simplified log cabin block design, took a deep breath, and dove in.

I had no idea how to sew an accurate 1/4-inch seam (let alone that there was a specific presser foot for that). I tried to guesstimate using my general sewing foot...embarrassing. My rotary cutting skills were simply atrocious. In fact, I made a pretty terrible cutting error, and had to try to make up for it by slightly modifying my quilt blocks during construction - which probably just made things worse. In the end, my blocks were significantly smaller and more crooked than I should admit.

Despite my naivety and many mistakes, I was quite happy with the end result! After that, I was hooked. Not only that, but I quickly became a fabric hoarder. It's a problem. An expensive problem. I love it. I love quilting. I'll never go back.
